Just a few: 1. Play nice with everyone. We are all intelligent human beings and we all deserve to be treated as such. That said, treat everyone with respect and they will do the same for you. Also--just because you used to breed striped Paint horses doesn't make you an expert on ALL breeds both modern and historical. I've been studying horse breeds from around the world and as far back as 400 AD and I am no expert.
2. Just because you don't agree with it, doesn't make you right. If someone makes a mistake, there really are nice ways to go about showing them their error--you don't have to be a jerk about it. You won't remain here long.
3. We are not keeping any real horse registries. If two people use the same mare--big hairy deal. In this day of embryo transfer, yep, its possible.
4. As far as Pedigree Assignment goes, please try to follow realistic genetics and breeds. (In other words, a Saddlebred crossed with a Clydesdale doesn't make an Appaloosa. Also--watch color assignment: some genes simply don't exist in some breeds: no grey modern Clydesdales, no palomino or cremello Arabians, that sort of thing.)
5. Don't be afraid to ask questions! We all started where you are--this is an amazing hobby once one takes a short time to make it all make sense.
If anyone has a problem with any of these rules, you can take it up with me.
